Membership requirements for
Mahoning Valley Wedding Network Vendors
for 2011

  1. $200.00 to join or renew your membership if you want to attend the meetings and not miss more than 4
    meetings per year (one per quarter).
  2. $500.00 if you want to join or renew membership and do not attend meetings. A new member however is
    required to attend your first meeting to present your company to the group.
  3. New members and renewing members must be approved by the membership committee.
  4. Be an active member, you are allowed four absences per year (one per quarter). In addition, a member who
    misses three consecutive meetings would also loose their membership position on the website. You are
    encouraged to have someone represent you at a meeting if you are not able to attend. This representative
    does not need to be an employee and will sign in at the meeting for your company and will be asked to give
    a 30 second introduction for your company. If you do miss three meetings in a row and do not attend the
    fourth meeting, your company information will be taken off MVweddings website. In order to become
    active again on the web site, you will need to attend three meetings in a row.
  5. Valid reasons for not attending a meeting such as working, death in family and vacation will not go against
    you as long as you notify the secretary in advance.
  6. All companies must be reputable, established businesses with an OH/PA business vendor’s license, and
    must have all necessary paper work completed for voting. Such reasons for cancellation of members are:
    company using distasteful, unethical business practices. MVWN promotes the group as a whole. Any
    problems or complaints must be brought to the board for discussion.
  7. Membership dues are payable each year on their anniversary date.
  8. Each member needs to write an education piece about their company for our website.
  9. Place a link on their business website to MVweddings website.
  10. Participate in marketing programs.
  11. Members may be deactivated by the Board for the following reasons:
    - Attendance – Failure to pay dues by renewal date – Unethical business practices.
  12. Members give MVWedding Network the right to use material submitted for marketing such as photos and
    articles in print and on the internet.

The Mahoning Valley Wedding Network is a non-profit organization and is open to any company that offers a service in the wedding industry, regardless of how many vendors are already members in any one category, meaning there are no caps. The MVWN will not promote or endorse any specific business over another, but promote the group as a whole.

Mission Statement:
“To be a leading, reputable network of wedding industry vendors in the Mahoning Valley who maintain the highest level of excellence regarding wedding services. Our network is founded upon the idea of promoting education regarding the industry.”

Meeting Format:
Each member will have an opportunity to provide the group with a brief introduction of themselves and their company. This should take no longer than thirty seconds. Each member will asked to “host” at least one meeting each year. The host will have 5 – 10 minutes for a full presentation of their business.

Meeting Schedule:
Our meeting are held the fourth Monday of each month, with locations varying at the discretion of the individual hosts. The meetings begin at 6:00pm and last approximately 1 ½ - 2 hours.
